Hello!!!
We arrived in Hilton Head on Saturday afternoon. It took us right at 12 hours including all our stops. The kids did great...no meltdowns, lots of book reading and sleeping and a couple of movies and we were here. Here is a picture of our beautiful house from the beach. Sunday we mostly hung out in the pool and then Sunday night we were treated to a great meal at Jim & Nick's Bar B Q without kids. The kids got to stay with Sophia back at the house and have pizza. We all had a great time and it was nice to sit down for a meal with just the adults. Today we ventured out to the beach. Griffin is not really a fan of the ocean, so we headed out early this morning to see how he would do. I am not sure if it was the waves themselves or the sound of the waves Griffin didn't like, but today he conquered some of that fear. He did a little body surfing and wave hopping with Daddy. Emmy on the other hand seems to have no fear, she loved it all.
We also ran into a few critters while playing on the beach. Here is a little baby crab. Emmy still had no fear and kept chasing after it.
When they got tired of playing in the ocean they played in the sand. I can't believe they convinced Griffin to let them bury him! While all the kids took naps some of us also took naps, hung out in the pool, but silly me let Travis convince me to take a bike ride on the beach. It was a great time at first. It was really cool to ride along the beach and see and hear the waves crashing. We rode a total of 8.2 miles!! The first 4 were really easy because we were riding with the wind, but oh how hard the second 4 miles were! Riding against the wind is hard, it didn't help that a storm was coming in and was really beginning to blow! We will see how sore I am tomorrow on whether we do that again. Although I would like to take the kids for a bike ride on the beach, they would really enjoy it.
