The Mayor's 15 Mile Memorial Day Bike Ride

On Memorial Day we got up and headed over to Louisville for the Mayor's 15 mile bike ride. We had a great time, the course was pretty flat and all of the intersections were blocked off so we didn't have to worry about car traffic. On the other hand you did have to worry about all the peeps and kids who had never done an organized ride before. No bike etiquette what so ever! There was lots of defensive bike riding involved for the people who would just cut over in front of you with out looking behind them to see if anyone was there. Travis pulled both the kids with his bike and they loved it. The ride started down at the waterfront. There were thousands of people who turned out for the ride also. The halfway point was in Iroquois Park so we got off the bikes for a drink and let the kids run around on the playground for a few minutes. After that we headed back to the waterfront. At the finish line they had a firetruck with the water hose ladder extended to mist everyone off as they crossed the finish. It was a beautiful day and we all had a great time!
